Outlander
I am a huge fan of Highlander romances and I knew about these books…well, a little..but for some reason, I thought they had been written in the 1960s and so I thought I would be reading outdated material. I didn’t start reading this until I started seeing all the hype on social media about the television series and looked the books up. I bought the first book and was hooked.
This is one of those series of books that should be read by everyone. It should be included in books that are called “Classics” like The Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings and Little House on Prairie. I included Little House on the Prairie because in later books, the Outlander series starts resembling it a bit.
This is a tale about a combat nurse just after World War Two who falls back in time about 200 years and finds herself in the Scottish Highlands. She is forced to survive in a time that has no modern conveniences or medicines and when people believed women were beneath men.
